BOOK DESIGN
Core 2: Typography
Parsons School of Design
A 136-page, visually rich book exploring the story of The Beatles, produced as both a perfect-bound paperback and a hand-made, French link stitched exposed-bound edition. Drawing from a wide range of sources and imagery, the design features a lively and engaging layout that balances visual storytelling with informative content. Through extensive research and image gathering, I developed a dynamic book that combines narrative and design.
The process involved creating varied compositions across each spread, implementing a color-coded system for different chapters, and carefully incorporating cut-out imagery to enhance movement and visual interest. The exposed-bound version utilizes the French link binding method, adding a tactile and crafted dimension to the final piece.
